ACUVUE® OASYS MAX 1-Day – 90 Lenses
ACUVUE® OASYS MAX 1-Day by Johnson & Johnson Vision is a daily disposable Single Vision soft medical contact lens designed to correct Myopia and Hyperopia while providing comfort and visual clarity throughout the day.
The lenses were developed to meet the demands of modern lifestyles, including frequent use of screens and digital devices and changing lighting conditions from day to night.
The lens combines two key technologies:
- TearStable™ Technology
- OptiBlue™ Light Filter
TearStable™ Technology
TearStable™ Technology optimizes the distribution of the wetting agent throughout the lens material and across its surface.
This helps:
- Improve tear-film stability
- Reduce tear evaporation
- Maintain moisture
- Support comfort throughout daily wear
OptiBlue™ Light Filter
The lens features:
OptiBlue™ Light Filter
which filters approximately:
60% of Blue-Violet Light
within the wavelength range targeted by the technology.
The filter helps reduce light scatter and supports visual clarity under different lighting conditions.
Johnson & Johnson states that HEV / Blue-Violet Light filtering through contact lenses has not been proven to provide health benefits such as retinal protection, cataract prevention, or treatment of eye strain. OptiBlue™ should therefore be presented as an optical feature rather than a therapeutic claim.
Lens Material
The lens is made from:
senofilcon A
Material type:
Silicone Hydrogel
Water content:
38%
The material contains an internal wetting agent, and the official Package Insert describes the lens surface as:
Hydrophilic
Additional material properties include:
- Refractive Index: 1.42
- Oxygen Permeability Dk: 103 × 10⁻¹¹
- Dk/t @ -3.00D: 121 × 10⁻⁹
- Center Thickness @ -3.00D: 0.085 mm
- Thickness Range: approximately 0.085–0.221 mm
- Coefficient of Friction: 0.007
- Visible Light Transmittance: ≥78%, depending on lens thickness
Base Curve
For the 90-lens pack:
BC: 8.5 mm
Important Note
The spherical ACUVUE OASYS MAX 1-Day product is generally available in:
8.5 mm and 9.0 mm Base Curves
However, the ACUVUE Technical Specifications guide specifically states:
9.0 Base Curve only available in the 30-lens pack.
Therefore:
Do not add BC 9.0 mm as an option for the 90-lens pack.
Diameter
DIA: 14.3 mm
Optical Power Range
The lens offers a wide range of spherical powers.
Myopia – Minus Powers
Plano
Then:
-0.50D to -6.00D

The official overall power range therefore extends from -12.00D to +8.00D, in addition to Plano.
The 2025 technical specifications do not indicate that plus powers are limited exclusively to the 30-lens pack for ACUVUE OASYS MAX. Therefore, plus powers may be available in the 90-pack configuration when offered in the relevant market and prescription.
UV Protection
The lenses provide:
Class 1 UV Blocking
Official UV protection:
Warning: UV-blocking contact lenses are not a substitute for UV-protective sunglasses because contact lenses do not completely cover the eye or surrounding area.
Blue-Green Visibility Tint
The lens features:
Blue-Green Visibility Tint
to make the lens easier to see during:
The Package Insert states that the lens uses:
Reactive Blue Dye #247
for visibility purposes.
The tint is not intended to change the natural color of the eye.
Inside-Out Mark
The spherical version also includes an:
Inside-Out Mark
to help confirm that the lens is correctly oriented before insertion.
Daily Disposable Design
ACUVUE OASYS MAX 1-Day is designed for:
Daily Disposable / Single Use
The lens should be discarded immediately after removal.

TearStable™ Technology
The lens features:
TearStable™ Technology
This advanced manufacturing process optimizes the distribution of the wetting agent throughout the lens material and across its surface.
According to Johnson & Johnson, this supports:
- Longer tear-film stability
- Reduced evaporation
- Moisture retention
- Comfortable wear throughout the day
OptiBlue™ Technology
The lens features:
OptiBlue™ Light Filter
which filters approximately:
60% of Blue-Violet Light
within the range targeted by the technology.
The filter helps reduce light scatter and supports visual clarity.
However, it should not be marketed as providing proven retinal protection or as a treatment for eye strain, as the manufacturer states that HEV filtering by contact lenses has not been proven to provide these ocular health benefits.
