It was developed to provide a high level of customization and ease of adjustment for cases requiring an advanced scleral lens. The design philosophy is based on the 1•2•3 Independent Fit Design, a three-zone independent system that allows the eye care professional to control each zone of the lens separately for a more precise fit.
The lenses are delivered within a maximum period of 30 to 60 days from the date of order confirmation.
The design consists of 3 main zones:
Central Zone – Central Zone
This zone is responsible for central clearance over the cornea. The Central SAG can be adjusted independently by up to ±200 microns, in 25-micron increments.
Limbal Vault Zone – Limbal Vault Zone
This is the transitional zone between the center and the scleral edge, helping control clearance over the limbus. It can also be adjusted by up to ±200 microns, with IN / OUT options and quadrant-specific control.
Scleral Zone – Scleral Zone
This is the landing zone of the lens on the sclera. Multiple options are available, including Toric Scleral Zone and Quadrant-Specific Control, to improve lens alignment on irregular scleral surfaces.
Atlantis offers multiple optical design options, including Single Vision, Front Toric, and Multifocal, in addition to advanced options for special cases such as Lens Notching and Limbal Vault IN / OUT. The manufacturer also recommends Hydra-PEG to improve wettability and surface quality, while PlasmaEYEZ is included as an integrated surface treatment.
The lens is designed to suit a wide range of clinical conditions, including keratoconus, post-corneal surgery, pellucid marginal degeneration, keratoglobus, dry eye, corneal surface disease, presbyopia, and intolerance to GP or soft contact lenses. Thanks to its flexible design and custom-made configuration, Atlantis is considered an advanced option for difficult fittings and irregular corneal conditions.

1•2•3 Independent Fit Design
Atlantis uses a three-zone independent design, allowing each part of the lens to be adjusted separately to achieve optimal alignment, comfort, and visual stability:
Central Zone for controlling central clearance.
Limbal Vault Zone for controlling clearance over the limbus.
Scleral Zone for controlling lens landing and alignment on the sclera.
This approach allows for more precise adjustment compared with designs that rely on changing only one zone, making the lens suitable for cases that require a higher level of customization.

How to Use
Atlantis is a custom medical scleral lens whose specifications, fitting, and follow-up must be determined and managed by an optometrist, contact lens specialist, or ophthalmologist.
It should not be selected based on refractive power alone, as determining the Base Curve, Diameter, SAG, and customization options depends on clinical evaluation, the shape of the cornea and sclera, and the way the lens fits on the eye.
The patient should follow the specialist’s instructions regarding:
Lens insertion and removal
The type of solution used for filling and cleaning
The GP lens care system
Daily wearing time
Regular follow-up visits
